Four parts you are actually paying for
The word gets used loosely in Bangladesh. All four of these have to be present, and each one
is a manufacturing cost you can see in the price.
Adjustable lumbar
A back that pushes into the curve of your lower spine, at a height you set. Height-adjustable
beats moulded, and costs more.
Tilt with a lock
You should be able to recline and hold the position. A chair that only springs back is not
doing the work.
Tensioned full mesh
Specified for a Dhaka summer. Foam-and-fabric backs get uncomfortable by mid-afternoon in
this humidity.
Correct seat depth
Two or three fingers between the seat edge and the back of your knee. A seat too deep cuts
circulation at any price.

When ergonomic is not worth it
An ergonomic chair carries parts a standard chair does not: a tensioned mesh frame, a
multi-position tilt mechanism, an adjustable lumbar carrier and a gas lift rated for daily
cycling. That hardware is most of the price difference.
The trade is roughly ৳2,000 of components against eight hours a day of sitting. If you sit
three hours a day, a standard revolving chair is the right buy and we would rather sell you
that one.

Ergonomic chair questions
What is the ergonomic chair price in BD?
CircleBox ergonomic chairs start at ৳4,499. The Active Pro, our high-back with
headrest, is ৳5,999 against a regular price of ৳10,000. Aluminium-base models sit above that.
Is an ergonomic chair worth it in Bangladesh?
If you sit more than six hours a day, yes. Below that the lumbar and tilt mechanism are
not doing enough work to justify the difference, and a standard revolving chair is the better
buy.
What is the difference between a mesh chair and an ergonomic chair?
Mesh is a material; ergonomic is a set of adjustments. A mesh back helps in Dhaka heat,
but without adjustable lumbar support and a tilt lock the chair is not ergonomic.
Does the warranty cover the gas lift?
Yes. The one-year warranty covers the gas lift, the base and the tilt mechanism. We
collect the chair, repair it and return it, and we hold spare gas lifts in stock so a failure
is a part swap rather than a dead chair.
